Community Guidelines

These guidelines explain what you may do on FURID and what is not allowed. They work together with our Terms of Service. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that break them.

What we allow

  • Personal profiles, links, blocks, gallery posts, FurAsk, Place pins, and stickers used in line with the Terms.
  • Adult-oriented links and media where allowed by the Terms, with appropriate warnings and only for users 18+—including following the NSFW tagging rules below.
  • Original art, commissions, streaming, and community content that respects others' rights and the rules below.
  • Reasonable automation you operate yourself (e.g. posting from your own tools) that does not abuse our infrastructure.

AI-generated content, stolen work, and credit

  • No AI-generated media: Do not upload, embed, or post images, video, or music/audio that were produced primarily by generative AI tools (e.g. text-to-image, text-to-video, or AI music generators). This applies to the gallery, avatars, banners, profile media, blocks, and anywhere else you add visual or audio content on FURID.
  • No stolen or misappropriated content: Do not post work you do not have the right to share— including reposts scraped from other artists, uncredited reposts, or content shared to bypass paywalls or licenses. We may remove content that appears to be stolen or posted in bad faith.
  • Credit when it is someone else's work: If an image, video, piece of music, or other creative work was made by another person, you must give clear credit (for example their name or handle and, when helpful, a link to their profile or original post). That includes commissions, collaborations, gifts, and reposts you are allowed to share. Passing off others' work as your own is not allowed.

Hotlinking and bandwidth abuse

Do not use FURID-hosted images, videos, or other media as permanent hotlinks on other sites, apps, or services in a way that offloads your traffic onto our infrastructure without permission. Use uploads and embeds as intended on the platform; linking to your profile or post pages is fine.

We may block hotlinks, throttle requests, or remove content that causes unreasonable load or cost.

API and technical abuse

  • Do not probe, scan, or attack our systems; do not attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or security controls.
  • Do not use our APIs or endpoints in ways that violate the Terms— including bulk scraping, credential stuffing, or disrupting the service for others.
  • OAuth and developer features must be used only as documented and for legitimate purposes.

Imagery involving minors

Zero tolerance: You may not upload, link to, or display any images or visual media that depict minors—whether the depiction is sexual or non-sexual. This includes real children, fictional childlike characters (including so-called "cub" or equivalent), and any illustrated or photographic portrayal of minors. It applies to gallery images, thumbnails, avatars, banners, profile art, links, embeds, and any other visual content on FURID.

We will remove such content, may suspend or terminate accounts without warning, and will report to authorities where the law requires.

NSFW tagging (adult images and videos)

When you post sexual or otherwise adult-rated images or videos on FURID (for example in the gallery), you must use the platform's NSFW marking so visitors get a clear warning before viewing.

  • Real-life adult content (required): Photographs, videos, or other media that show real people in sexual or explicit situations, or other real-world adult imagery, must always be tagged as NSFW wherever that option exists (e.g. gallery "NSFW" / mature content flag). Untagged real-life adult media may be removed or re-tagged, and repeated violations may affect your account.
  • Artwork (recommended): Human-created drawings, illustrations, stylized CGI, and similar fictional art (not AI-generated—see AI and credit rules) depicting adult themes should be tagged NSFW when it is clearly mature—we strongly recommend it for community consistency and safety—but it is not treated as a strict requirement the same way as real-life media.

Harassment, hate, and illegal activity

  • No harassment, doxxing, threats, or coordinated abuse of other users.
  • No content that promotes hate or violence against people based on protected characteristics.
  • No illegal content, fraud, malware, or instructions for serious harm.

Spam and deception

  • No spam profiles, comment spam, or misleading links (phishing, fake logins, etc.).
  • Usernames must not impersonate well-known people or brands in bad faith (see Terms).

Custom CSS and embeds

Custom CSS must not be used to hide malicious behavior, steal sessions, or break other users' experience. Do not use embeds or scripts in ways that violate these guidelines or the Terms.

Enforcement

We enforce these guidelines at our discretion. Actions may include removing content, disabling features, or terminating accounts. If you believe content breaks these rules, contact us at support[at]furid.co with links and a short description.
